In other parts of town, residents are waiting for power to be restored after downed trees hit powerlines. “Crews continue to restore power from overnight storms. They will work until all have been restored. We appreciate your patience,” said BTU in a post on X. Some homes and vehicles in Bryan-College Station have damage after large trees either snapped or were uprooted from the storms.

Washed-out roads continue to be an issue. In the Calvert area, firefighters helped a driver out of a pickup truck after he drove into a washed-out roadway on S Tidewell Prairie. We’re told the driver didn’t suffer any serious injuries. Authorities caution drivers to watch for hazardous road conditions, especially in rural areas at night.
