Volunteers for the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics are needed

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The 2024 USA Track and Field National Junior Olympics will take place on Texas A&M campus next month and they need volunteers. The event will be from July 20-28 and volunteers must be at least 18 years old to register.

They need scores of volunteers to help with event setup and teardown, registration and check-in, field event assistance, and hospitality and information. Volunteers can sign up for a few hours, a few days, or the entire week.

“Everything from passing out waters, to making sure that athletes get good directional signage, to giving recommendations on food and places to hang out. All of those different things that set College Station apart from other places,” Jeremiah Cook, the Tourism Manager for Visit College Station, said.

Cook says this event would be impossible without community volunteers working together to create a memorable experience for thousands of talented athletes and future stars. Visit College Station is looking for around 150 volunteers per day. People who register will be provided food, water, and shirts throughout the week.

“But to have the opportunity to bring in people from across the country to experience this that maybe are watching the Olympics coming out at the end of the month and saying that could be me one day. This is the start of something like that and so to be able to be a part of that, I think it’s huge for College Station,” said Cook.
