United Methodist Church of College Station holds another Grocery Giveaway
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – It’s that time again. The First United Methodist Church of College Station is holding another Grocery Giveaway.
Pastor Kefentse Risher joined First News at Four on Thursday, and said this was brought about more than a year ago to help the community.
“We were able to see that there was still, just like all across the country. There’s still a big issue with food insecurity. This was an opportunity for us to do something and our way to help with that particular need,” Pastor Risher said.
Pastor Risher said everyone is welcome at the giveaway.
“The main help comes from Brazos Valley Food Bank. They supply the food for us and so and then it’s the community that really helps us. The Church, of course, we have volunteers from church, but the community support has been so overwhelming,” added Pastor Risher.
The next grocery giveaway will be Saturday, August 3 beginning at 11:30 a.m. The church is located on 1125 Wellborn Road in College Station.
