TxDOT wants to make safety improvements along Highway 21

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The following is a news release from TxDOT:

The Texas Department of Transportation Bryan District is proposing intersection improvements on Highway 21 in Brazos and Burleson Counties at the intersections of FM 50 South, FM 50 North, and OSR.

The proposed improvements would construct Restricted Crossing U-Turn (R-CUT) intersections to enhance safety and improve the operation of the intersections.

Watch the video below that explains how R-CUTs work

R-CUT intersections simplify decision-making for drivers and minimize the potential for higher-severity incidents, such as T-bone crashes.

TxDOT will be conducting an open house public meeting on the proposed project. The purpose of this meeting is to introduce the proposed improvements, share background information, and gather feedback from the local community.

Attendees will be able to come and go as they please to review materials, ask questions, and share comments in an open-house format.
