Trio indicted on charges linked to 2023 homicide investigation in Bryan
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Three people accused of tampering with evidence in a murder case have been indicted by a Brazos County grand jury.
The suspects are Anthony Jamal Currie, 20, of Bryan, Lamarco Andrell Joshua, 21, of College Station, and Meakeyleetrieceiavia Nowlin, 25, of College Station.
All three were indicted last week on a charge of tampering with evidence in the shooting death of 22-year-old Courtaney Jermaine O’Bryant of College Station.
Investigators say they tried hiding O’Bryrant’s cell phone and the handgun used in his murder that happened on June 5, 2023, in the 3300 block of S College Avenue in Bryan.
The three were arrested in April this year and bonds were each set at $100,000.
Currie and Joshua remain in the Brazos County Detention Center.
Nowlin was released from jail back in April also on a $100,000 bond. Sources tell KBTX that Nowlin was taken into custody in April at the Bryan/College Station TDCJ Parole office where she was employed. We’ve reached out to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to ask what her employment status is today.
A motive for the shooting has not been revealed.
