Thousands of Avocado Green mattress pads recalled due to fire hazard
(CNN) – Before you go to sleep tonight, you should check your mattress pad.
Avocado Green Mattress is recalling over 55,000 of its organic cotton mattress pads due to a fire hazard.
The recall includes all sizes, from twin to California King, that were sold in both a standard pocket and deep pocket version.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled mattress pads violate mandatory federal flammability regulations for mattress pads and pose a fire hazard.
They were sold at Avocado Green Mattress stores nationwide online, from Jan. 2019 through March of this year.
No injuries have been reported.
However, consumers are being told they should stop using them immediately and contact the company for a free replacement mattress pad.
