The Easter bunny got to work early this year at Navasota’s annual egg hunt
NAVASOTA, Texas (KBTX) – Families were invited to kick off Easter weekend with an early egg hunt.
Living In Triumph and the City of Navasota worked together to host the annual egg-hunting festivities at the August Horst Pavilion on Friday. The event had music, the Easter bunny, lunch, and the anticipated egg hunt.
“My favorite part of the event is, of course, seeing the kids smile,” said Joe McGinty, head of Communications for Living In Triumph. “Just having the family unit out, it brings much joy to us.”
With the Easter bunny’s help, 4,500 eggs were hidden, said McGinty. That’s double the number of eggs hidden last year.
“This is one of our biggest events, so we always look to increase,” said McGinty. “I’m sure we’ll continue to build off of this, maybe we’ll need a larger location next year. Who knows what’s in the deck, but I think this is [going to] stick around for years to come.”
Families involved in the hunt got free snacks, sodas, and the chance to win fun prizes.
“Our annual Easter Egg Hunt brings the community together for great fellowship, good food, and fun for the entire family,” said McGinty.
Living In Triumph was created in 2018 to offer resources, programs, and activities to the community of Navasota and Grimes County, according to the Living In Triumph Facebook page.
