Texas A&M, community groups coming together for Sexual Assault Prevention & Awareness Month
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – April is Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Month, and Bryan-College Station organizations are coming together with the goal of making the community a safer place.
Texas A&M’s Health Promotion Office is hosting a series of events raising awareness and sharing resources.
Wednesday, April 3 is Take Back the Night.
Students, staff and residents are invited to come to Aggie Park for the annual event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There will be campus and community resources, a keynote speaker and a walk.
“That’ll be the essence of taking back the night,” explained Jon Hill, the Health Promotion Specialist with the Office of Student Life. “You’re walking to show that solidarity with survivors.”
The events continue all month long. The Health Promotion Office has a calendar of all the events in the area, including ones hosted by other organizations.
