Teaching license under review amid investigation of sexual assault allegations against former teacher
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Texas Education Agency has confirmed the teaching license of a former teacher at an International Leadership of Texas school campus in College Station is under review.
According to arrest reports, Jose Hernandez Grimaldo assaulted a 12-year-old in a restroom on the IL Texas campus in College Station in February 2023.
One year later, he’s been arrested.
At the time of his arrest, Hernandez Grimaldo was working at a different IL Texas campus in the Dallas area.
He has since been terminated from that job.
The TEA has confirmed his teaching license is now under review.
Wednesday, Hernandez Grimaldo asked to have his bond lowered from the listed $200,000 but was denied.
He remains in custody at the Brazos County Jail.
