Take in art, culture at Downtown Bryan Street & Art Fair Saturday

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – It’ll be an eventful weekend in Downtown Bryan.

Destination Bryan is hosting the Downtown Bryan Street & Art Fair Saturday.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will showcase various artists, demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Lina Adams, Destination Bryan’s PR & communications coordinator, said the event is a perfect way for all ages to experience art and culture.

“We do value art here in all kinds of forms, whether it’s painting, pottery, musicians, theater and so we’re really excited,” Adams said.

The Frame Gallery owner, Missy Barron, and Destination Bryan are sponsoring three tents Saturday. Those are the budding artist tent, the youth art tent and the performance tent.

Barron said the budding artist tent will feature seven artists, and the youth art tent will showcase work from students from Iola ISD and St. Joseph Catholic School in Bryan.

The performance tent will feature The Theatre Company of Bryan-College Station, Stage Center, Blinn College theatre students and comedians.

LeAnn Hail, the owner of the Purple Turtle Art Studio, is partnering with the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley to provide kids activities.

They’ll be creating a variety of things including jewelry, wands and flower crowns.

The Street & Art Fair will also provide several opportunities to shop from local business owners like Amanda Bartel.

She’s the owner of White Lotus Pottery and will have handmade pieces for sale.

In addition, some of her pottery students will demonstrate how pottery is made.
