Strategic Armory Corps signs agreement to establish worldwide headquarters in Bryan
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The City of Bryan signed an agreement with Strategic Armory Corps Wednesday to establish its worldwide headquarters in Bryan.
Strategic Armory Corps is a firearms manufacturing company responsible for bringing brands like Armalite to customers ranging from individuals to military and law enforcement personnel.
Its operations extend to places like Arizona and Brazil, but its current setup in College Station is making a big move to Bryan.
“It speaks a lot about what not only they see, but what everybody across the country sees in this area, this little nucleus we are for national security,” Bryan mayor Bobby Gutierrez said.
Over 200 acres of land will be transformed into an expanded manufacturing plant and tourist destination.
“A place to be with your family, and then it’s good for them to know the importance for you, to know how to use a gun,” Strategic Armory Corps board member Jose Augusto Schincariol said.
Officials said choosing Bryan as the location for their headquarters was a no-brainer.
“We were very well welcomed in the city and the state. We want to give that back to everybody,” Schincariol added.
The initial agreement was decided in July of 2023 when the company first agreed to build its headquarters in Bryan. Part of that agreement will see the construction of Base Armalite, a facility for firearm education and training.
There’s currently one other Base Armalite located in Brazil. It’s the largest shooting range in Latin America.
However, Base Armalite is more than just a gun range, it’s a place for military and law enforcement personnel to train, and for civilians to experience handling firearms in a safe and educational environment.
The Brazil location features an attached Texas barbecue restaurant, with possible plans for a Brazilian steakhouse on-site at the Bryan location.
Mayor Gutierrez said it’ll become a tourist destination.
“I’m looking forward to having someplace that you can go take an afternoon, be able to be with your friends and shoot guns and targets, all good fun stuff that entails,” he said.
The deal with Strategic Armory Corps is expected to bring at least a hundred full-time jobs to the area.
