St. Joseph Health awards $135,000 in grants to Brazos Valley health organizations

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – St. Joseph Health awarded $135,000 in grants to five health-based organizations in the Brazos Valley.

The grants went to the Prenatal Clinic, The Rose, Twin City Mission, Ride2Health United Way, and the Grimes Health Resource Center.

Funding will go towards projects like building a community garden in Grimes County and helping transport those in need to their doctor’s appointments.

It’s the first time community grants like these have been distributed by St. Joseph Health in Texas.

”One of the things that we do is reinvest in our communities. You know, we’re not beholden to shareholders. We’re beholden to our community,” Market President Kimberly Shaw said.

St. Joseph Health awarded over $900,000 in grants across the entire state.
