Shop gently-loved books at Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Friends of the Library want to help you add more books to your home collection.

Starting Friday, the nonprofit will host its annual Spring Book Sale at the Clara B. Mounce Public Library in Bryan.

There will be thousands of gently-loved books for all ages that vary in genre.

“The ones we have selected are great titles and almost brand new, so you can get a whole bag of books,” Friends of the Library board member Deb Sappington said.

On Friday and Saturday, it’ll be $20 per bag and $10 per bag Sunday.

Board member Donna Pohl said attendees can get at least $300 worth of books.

“We worked very hard to sort through those to make sure that the quality of books at the sale are top quality for what you’re getting for either $10 or $20 a bag,” Pohl said.

The book sale will be open from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday for Friends of the Library members only.

Saturday, it’ll be open from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for members and 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the general public

The hours will be 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

For those wanting a Friends of the Library membership, signups will be available onsite.

Yearly memberships are $10 for students, $25 for individuals and $60 for families.

In addition to buying books throughout the weekend, attendees will support the Bryan-College Station Public Library System.

Funds will go towards initiatives like the Summer Reading Program, which kicks off June 1. It encourages kids and adults to read for 30 days.

“There’s going to be fun activities throughout the whole entire summer, and this is all made possible through our Friends of the Library,” library system director Bea Saba said. “We’re so grateful.”
