Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for portions of the area until 9pm
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – As we monitor storms to our north moving into the area, storms will be moving into a favorable environment for strengthening.
A Severe Thunderstorm WATCH has been issued for most of Central Texas, including Milam, Robertson, and Leon, Burleson, Brazos, Madison, Trinity and Houston Counties in the Brazos Valley until 10pm. The primary concern will be for large hail, and gusting winds, but similar to the past few rounds of severe weather, a tornado or two cannot be ruled out either.
For the rest of the Brazos Valley, storms are generally expected to fall apart headed into this evening, but we may need to watch across the southern stretches of the area through midnight if storms are able to hold together longer than currently expected.
Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected through the next couple days. The latest updates can be found on-air, online, and on your KBTX Weather app.
