Security camera footage shows vehicle used to steal trailer from College Station business
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – A College Station business owner is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person who reportedly stole one of his customer’s trailers.
Security camera footage from Hicks Customs shows the truck that was used to steal the trailer. It’s believed to be a newer model Ford Ranger with a missing tailgate.

Owner Bobby Hicks said he thinks the crime was planned.
“You can’t do much about people that want to steal stuff, you know? But yeah, I think it was planned. I think somebody knew it was there,” Hicks said.
According to the time stamp on the camera footage, the crime took place early Monday morning. College Station police say the alleged suspect broke the lock off of the trailer with a blunt object before leaving with it in tow.
“You can’t stop people that want to steal. I mean, you can only do your best to prevent it and have cameras,” Hicks said.
The trailer belonged to one of Hicks’s customers. The business owner said he does his best to keep his customer’s property protected, and encourages them to have insurance in case of an event like this.
“If they leave trailers I make sure I tell them ‘Hey, I have a lock on it,’ and most importantly, I just say make sure you have insurance on it,” he said.
A report was filed with the College Station Police Department, who said that between the lock and the cameras, Hicks had the right security measures in place.
