Robertson County Sheriff race heads to May runoff

ROBERTSON COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – Robertson County Sheriff Gerald Yezak is ready to hang up his hat after nearly 30 years.

He’s served longer as the county’s top lawman than anyone since the position was first elected in 1836.

The six Republicans running for his place include Karen Box, Rip Brown, Johnny Lopez, Bill Ruland, S.A. Smith and Miguel Vasquez.

There is now a runoff between Bill Ruland and Karen Box as neither received the required majority needed to declare a victory.

“Looking forward to being able to provide residents of Robertson County with quality and positive law enforcement,” said Karen Box.
