Retired Texas A&M police K9 passes away

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Texas A&M University Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its retired K9 officers.

On Wednesday, the department announced K9 Tyson passed away peacefully at the country home he shared with his handler.

K9 Tyson served the Texas A&M Community from 2017 to 2021.

The A&M police chief Mike Johnson stated, “We are saddened to learn of his passing, yet grateful for K9 Tyson’s service to the campus.”

Tyson was 11 years old.
