Regents authorize Texas A&M to negotiate Trev Alberts contract
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Texas A&M President Mark Welsh can now officially negotiate a contract with Athletic Director Trev Alberts.
The details of his contract will be released once it’s finalized.
It’s been reported that the university will spend over $4 million to buy Alberts out of his contract with Nebraska, which he signed an eight-year extension last November.
That was one of two items on the Board of Regents agenda Wednesday.
The other was to appoint Dr. Robert Bishop as the Director of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station. He previously worked at The University of South Florida as the Dean of the College of Engineering. He starts his new duties on Tuesday.
The Regents discussed the items in executive session and then voted to approve them.
