Planning continues for proposed construction project at intersection near Kyle Field
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Aggieland Outfitters opened its new location outside of Kyle Field Thursday, just down the street from their original location. They say part of the reason for opening the new store is a proposed project for George Bush Drive and Wellborn Road.
This intersection is located just outside of campus and is a common location for traffic. TxDOT Bryan says they are still in the planning phase for the project being proposed for the intersection, which will include updates to the railroad crossing and is expected to include an overpass to allow pedestrians and trains to have their own pathways.
“We think that the project will let for construction in late 2025 and that’s what we’re planning for at this point,” Bob Colwell, the public information officer for TxDOT Bryan, said.
TxDOT says there are ongoing meetings with stakeholders for the project including Union Pacific Railroad.
