NORMANGEE, Texas (KBTX) – Normangee ISD named its lone finalist for Superintendent Friday.

More than 50 candidates submitted an application, but Justin Vercher came out on top.

He has over 23 years of experience in education and currently serves as the high school principal at Hillsboro High School. He has also worked in Northwest ISD, Birdville ISD, Forney ISD, Katy ISD and Little River ISD.

There is a state-mandated 21-day waiting period before he can sign a contract with the district. The board is expected to offer an official contract once that period is over.
