New host shares more details for 21st annual Kurten Fireworks Show & Fundraiser
KURTEN, Texas (KBTX) – Additional information is being shared by the new host and organizers of the 21st annual Kurten Fireworks Show & Fundraiser.
The event is set for Thursday, July 4th at the Kurten Community Center on Highway 21 with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the show beginning at 9 p.m.
“Come early to take part in our gun raffle, food park, yard games, and bounce houses, and to check out our vendors! Gates will open at 5 PM and the show will start at 9 PM! All proceeds will benefit local charities, so come out and have a blast! And don’t forget to thank our sponsors, without them none of this would be possible,” said Shane Savage, owner and operator of Savage Outddor & Defense.
The company agreed to take the event over and host it after the fire department said it needed to step back from hosting it due to the increasing cost of fireworks and the amount of manpower required to plan and host such a large event.
At this time, Savage says the big thing still needed is additional sponsors and private donations to help cover some of the costs.
“It’s going to take a whole community to pull this off,” said Savage.

“This event is free to the public. However, donations are appreciated and all proceeds go directly to our operating costs and then our charities. This is a non-profit event. Donations can be sent via Venmo to @SavageOD or be made via cash/check in person at the community center,” said Savage.
