New expansion projects at Baylor Scott & White set to open in 2025

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) -You can see the construction work from Highway 6 in College Station. Baylor Scott & White is in the process of expanding.

The hospital is working on “The Plaza”, a building with spaces for clinic rooms, a sleep center, therapy services, lab and future growth, along with a day surgery center.

”This will hopefully give us more opportunities to serve those who have special needs with a specialist, orthopedics, GI, OBGYN for example,” said Jason Jennings, president of Baylor Scott & White – College Station Region. “Sometimes people do not want to come to a hospital for their surgery needs and it’s on an outpatient basis meaning they get to go home the same day they have surgery. We get to add an ambulatory surgery center to meet those needs as well.”

They are also in the process of expanding the emergency department adding 11 new exam rooms, 2 new trauma bays, and a new private treatment room.

“We’ve added 28 new providers over the past year in response to what the community is asking of us and were grateful for that demand,” said Dr. Seth Sullivan, Chief Medical Officer for Baylor Scott & White in the College Station Region. “That ranges from primary care to medical and surgical specialties.”

The Plaza is scheduled to open in January 2025. The ER will open closer to May or June of 2025.
