Missing Brazos County man found deceased nearly 400 miles away from home
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Family members tell KBTX that Troy Luce was found deceased following a multi-day search that spanned hundreds of miles across the state.
Mr. Luce was found in the city of Midland around 8 p.m. Tuesday on a jogging path behind a shopping center and his truck was later located stuck in mud at a nearby oil rig site.
According to family members, authorities believe dehydration and a heart attack may have led to his passing.
Luce, who was first reported missing on Saturday, had early signs of dementia, according to his family.
Family members are working on arrangements to get him returned home and have set up a GoFundMe to help pay for the unexpected funeral-related costs.
“Let’s come together to show Troy’s family that they are not alone in their grief and that we stand with them, ready to extend our support during this challenging time,” the online fundraiser said.
