Meet the Candidate: Jake Sullivan
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The 2024 primary is coming up.
Jake Sullivan is running for Burleson County Sheriff and announced his candidacy in March of last year.
Sullivan said that he is ready to take on the challenge of the office.
“The citizens of Burleson County, we’re a growing community and we need leadership that is prepared for that change and that growth. And so I think I have the education and experience to lead the sheriff’s office into the future,” he said.
Sullivan also said that he has an abundance of experience from his previous jobs and education.
“I have a Master’s Degree, I graduated from two of the top police management schools. And I think my track record with Somerville, with us becoming an accredited agency speaks to the plans which I have to push the department forward,” he said.
Sullivan expressed the need for a change to the practices that the office traditionally takes.
“I think the sheriff’s office needs to be revamped with modern policies and practices and technology. It also needs to be more transparent and accountable to the community,” he said.
