Meet local, state candidates at upcoming forums

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Early voting for the midterm elections is less than one month away.

While there is a presidential election this year, Texans can also cast their ballot for officials running at the state and local levels.

Local Candidates Forum

The Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce is hosting an event for community members to get to know local candidates.

The forum will be at the Brazos Center on Monday, Feb. 12. It is free and open to the public.

Only contested races will be featured in the forum. It will be moderated by Scott DeLucia.

There are three ways citizens can participate: attend in person, listen live on WTAW 1620 or at RadioAggieland.com, or view the live stream at KBTX.com.

Questions for the candidates can be submitted in advance to jordan@bcschamber.org.

Candidate Forum HD12 and HD14 Races

Two Brazos Valley representatives in Austin will not be running for reelection, so seats for House Districts 12 and 14 are up for grabs.

All candidates running for these seats will be at a forum at Legends Events Center. It will be on Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
