May 4 Special Election: Iola residents can vote to change liquor restrictions

IOLA, Texas (KBTX) – Early voting for the May 4 Special Election is underway, and Iola residents have a chance to update the city’s liquor laws.

Voters can choose whether to legalize the sale of alcoholic beverages at local restaurants and businesses. This would include mixed drinks.

Back in November we talked to Francine’s Country Pavilion, an Iola business in support of the changes.

“It’s about trying to bring local businesses opportunity and more growth for our community,” owner Frances Spivey told us.
