Man arrested after trying to outrun College Station police on Highway 6

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – A Bryan man was taken into custody Monday night after reportedly running from police across lanes of Highway 6 in College Station.

College Station police it happened after they stopped a driver for a traffic violation on the highway near Rock Prairie Road.

They say that’s when the suspect climbed out of the car, resisted arrest, and took off running from the officer.

According to police, Joshua Stewart ran across several lanes of Highway 6 before giving up.

Police also found marijuana they believe the suspect dropped while running away.

Joshua Stewart bonded out of jail Tuesday. He’s facing charges of resisting arrest, evading arrest with a previous conviction, tampering with evidence, and possession of marijuana.
