Local hockey team looking for host families
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Players from all over the country come to the Brazos Valley to play hockey, and they need families to host them.
Billet families are needed to house players from the Texas RoadRunners Hockey Team.
Players arrive the last week of August and stay until mid-March.
They practice three days a week at Spirit Ice Arena in College Station and play 23 away games and 23 home games.
Players pay billet families a nominal fee per month to help with the cost of housing.
Organizers say host families create friendships with players that last a lifetime.
