Legendary artists, top barbecue restaurants to be in Aggieland for Troubadour Festival

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – An event that combines country music and barbecue will return to College Station.

The Troubadour Festival is Saturday in Aggie Park.

This will be the festival’s second time in Aggieland, and it’s co-owner, Chase Colston, said there was no question if it would return.

“We had just a great first year overall, and the decision to come back and make this permanent for us is something that was an easy decision,” Colston said. “We’re glad to be, hopefully, the newest tradition down here.”

The festival will feature eight country artists including Grammy Award-winning Travis Tritt and Texas country icon Pat Green along with William Clark Green, The Red Clay Strays, the Cameron Sacky Band, The Lowdown Drifters, the Joe Stamm Band and Mikayla Lane.

In addition, 35 barbecue restaurants from across the Lone Star State will be a part of Saturday’s event. Some of those are 1701 Barbecue, 1775 Texas Pit BBQ, 2M Smokehouse, B4 Barbeque & Boba, Bar-A-BBQ and Black’s Barbecue.

“This is like being in your own backyard with your family and friends, putting your feet up listening to great music and having great food,” Brandy Tuck said.

Tuck is Texas A&M’s community events liaison and said this is one of her favorite events. She was a part of the inaugural event in 2023 and said it’s the perfect way to kick off the summer.

For those planning to attend, Tuck suggests bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a small bag. Attendees are also allowed to bring blankets, basic camping chairs, rain gear excluding umbrellas, a basic camera, bug spray, ear plugs and a stroller for kids of the appropriate age.

Parking will be available in the Stallings Boulevard Garage and the West Campus Garage along with Lot 61 and Lot 62 on the west side of Kyle Field. Parking is $10.

“If you’re going to be drinking, please Uber or please Lyft and make sure you stay safe out there,” Tuck said. “We have spots available that you can be picked up and dropped off as well.”
