BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – A very large piece of equipment being hauled to New Mexico is making its way through the Brazos Valley on Thursday.

TxDOT says the top piece of a reactor vessel is being transported to Hobbs, New Mexico.

The equipment caused significant traffic delays earlier in the day on Highway 47 near the Rellis Campus and along Harvey Mitchell Parkway near Sandy Point Road.

At 3 p.m. it was in the area of Highway 6 and making a turn to eastbound OSR.

According to TxDOT this is the remainder of its path in our region:

From Sandy Point Road (FM 1687), they will be going from FM 2818

to US 190/SH6

to SH OSR (Robertson/Brazos County Line)

to US 79 (Jewett)

to IH 45 WFR (Buffalo)

to SH 179 (Dew)

to FM 1365 (Teague)

to FM 2777 (Teague)

to US 84 and out of the Bryan District.

⚠️3PM TRAFFIC ALERT!!! This is the path for that large haul going through town this afternoon. Right now it’s at Highway 6 and OSR. It’s going to go down OSR this afternoon VERY SLOWLY so try to avoid OSR this afternoon! It’ll then go north on FM 39 in Normangee then to Jewett. pic.twitter.com/1QpHPIM1ww
