Join Bryan Aquatics for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Come to the Bryan Aquatic Center to join in on what could be the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson.

In conjunction with the World Waterpark Association, people from across six continents will be holding lessons to participate, attempting to set a Guinness World Record.

The event is free and there is no pre-registration required. Hayden Johnson, the Aquatics Coordinator for the City of Bryan, joined First News at Four to share more.

“We will have a little sign-in sheet just saying ‘Hey, we participated in this event,’” Johnson said. “It helps us keep track of record numbers as well.”

Johnson says the lesson will last 30 minutes and anyone who participates will have access to the Aquatics Center for rec swim hours. He recommends showing up at least 30 minutes before the lesson begins to help make sure everyone knows what to expect when 1 p.m. hits.

Take part in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson at the Bryan Aquatic Center on Thursday, June 20 at 1 p.m.
