Iola home destroyed in fire
IOLA, Texas (KBTX) -An investigation is underway to determine what started a structure fire at an Iola home on Monday.
Around 9:30 a.m., the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received multiple 911 calls in reference to a structure fire on FM 244, just south of County Road 121.
The Iola Volunteer Fire Department responded to help the Bedias Volunteer Fire Department, Anderson Volunteer Fire Department AVFD, and SHIRO V.F.D. for a structure fire with multiple vehicles and other structures involved.
Officials say the residents had made it out safely with no injuries.
One Iola firefighter was transported to the hospital for complications due to heat and has since been released.
