Houston Police investigating officer involved shooting in Prairie View
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (KBTX) – Houston Police are in Waller County following an officer-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon.
Police say they were in Prairie View attempting to arrest a suspect wanted on a murder in Houston.
When officers approached the suspect in a vehicle outside a restaurant on Business 290, the suspect and another man opened fire on the officers.
Houston police say their officers returned fire, striking both men and then began rendering medical aid to them both.
Both suspects were rushed to a Houston hospital where they are receiving treatment.
Two HPD patrol vehicles were struck but no officers were injured in the shootout.
The Texas Rangers, Waller County District Attorney, and Houston Police are all investigating the incident. Per HPD policy, body-worn camera footage of the incident will be publicly released within 30 days.
Police did not say which murder the suspect was linked to and no names have been shared at this time.

Prelim info is officers discharged their weapon at 2 armed suspects. Suspects’ condition unknown. No officers were injured.
