Hearne ISD making changes to security measures
HEARNE, Texas (KBTX) – Starting Jan. 8, there will be some new security measures at some Hearne ISD schools.
In a letter to parents, district leaders said metal detectors will be used daily on secondary campuses. The district asks parents to discuss this with their children.
This will also impact people going to school-related activities on Hearne ISD property. That means if you visit the gym, cafeteria, library or football field, you will also have to pass through the metal detector.
Students will also be issued a clear backpack at the start of the semester. Those backpacks will be the only ones allowed on campus.
