Goldstar Barber Studio, All Heart Inc. and Bryan ISD unify for a back-to-school event this weekend
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – A new collaboration aims to help parents and children prepare for the school year.
For the first time ever, All Heart Inc., Goldstar Barbar Studio and Bryan ISD are working together toward a back-to-school event this Sunday, August 11.
The event will be held in the Bryan High School Gym from 12 to 5 p.m. with around 27 vendors in attendance.
At the event, kids can get free haircuts, school supplies and even receive a physical from the Brazos County Health District. They’ll also offer a lice and vision check for the children.
The initiative helps prepare kids for the new school year, brings the community together, and relieves some of the stress on parents.
Goldstar Barber Studio has been organizing this event for the last seven years. They have collaborated with other organizations to offer more to families.
The owner of GoldStar Barber Studio, Mike Espitia, wants to give every single child the same experience.
“Last year, we kind of turned some kids down, and I said, you know what, this year, we have to make it better and bigger,” Espitia said. “How you can make it better and bigger is you gotta collaborate.”
Espitia hopes to spread happiness and joy to the kids and the parents.
“For us, it feels like you know a weight is lifted off the shoulders of the parents, and they’re not able to stress about the kids going back to school,” Espitia said.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event, and the first 50 kids to arrive will participate in a special activity that will be showcased all over the city.
Registration is on-site, and no RSVP is required
