Get ready to sock hop with the City of Bryan

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The City of Bryan Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a 1950s-themed sock hop for anyone ages 55 and up.

“Guests can wear their best 1950s attire,” said Emberly Smith with the Parks and Recreation Department. “Poodle skirts, leather jackets, slick back hair.”

It’s not required to dress up, but guests are welcome to, Smith added.

Tickets can be purchased at the City of Bryan’s Parks and Recreation department office, The Bryan Aquatic Center and at the door the day of the event. Tickets cost $10.

“The night is filled with a lot of fun,” Maddie Green, also with the Parks and Recreation Department, said.

Guests will enjoy live music by the Texas T-birds, 50s-themed heavy hors d’oeuvres, an ice cream bar, a cash bar, a photo booth and door prizes that will be given away throughout the night.
