Free Music Friday: Jeff Jacobs

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Texas music group, Jeff Jacobs Band has towed the line between many different genres, and their album, “Out of the Keg” has racked up more than 250,000 streams since its release in January 2020, and has two charting singles.

Their lead singer, Jeff Jacobs was on First News at Four for this week’s Free Music Friday and said it was a sibling’s push who got him into music.

“I was 13 years old when my brother made me put down the video games and put me in front of a guitar, and things just changed. That’s all I’ve loved since then, you know. Video games have become second nature,” Jacobs recalled.

Jacobs was excited about the show on Saturday, and mentioned that an upcoming show was free to attend.

“It’s just going to be a lot of energy. We are definitely different from a lot of bands because they just, you know, have their frontline, their front guy, that’s just kind of playing acoustic. That’s not me. I play an electric, I play leads, I do everything, and we jump around and have a good time,” said Jacobs.

The Jeff Jacobs Band is performing on Saturday, July 20 at Calvary Court from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is free.
