Fort Cavazos lieutenant goes viral on TikTok for military and family content
FORT CAVAZOS, Texas (KWTX) -1st Class lieutenant Austin Vonletkemann started making TikToks nearly two years ago, sharing content on what he experiences on a normal day as member of the military and a father of four girls.
Vonletkemann says he “started making videos kind of poking fun at the nuisances and the normal things that we experience on a daily basis in the military, and it resonated with a lot of people.”
His comedy videos share insight into misconceptions people might have about the military.
60 million likes later, Vonletkemann has gained a following, even making an appearance on the Today show with his family.
Vonletkemann comments, “I can’t go anywhere on base without getting recognized anymore… I for sure will get stopped, people will ask me to take pictures and stuff like that it’s cool.”
He says his content can help reshape people’s perception of the military and hopes he can teach something to the next generation soldiers.
“I get to steward the profession in a way and bring some positive highlights to the military.”
