For the first time since September 2023, Easterwood hits the triple digit mark

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – It’s official! After almost eleven full months of readings below 100°, Monday afternoon saw 2024′s first triple digit reading at Easterwood Field.

The average FIRST triple digit reading is marked around July 12. You likely remember 2023′s blistering, record-setting summer, which saw 50 consecutive days with readings above 100°: This summer has been notably more mild and wet.

We are likely to see the triple digits a couple more times before the week is done (especially Tuesday), but a shift to a cooler, slightly wetter pattern looks to arrive as early as this weekend and into next week. If we are able to keep any more dominating ridges away for the next month or so, we may be able to only tally a handful of 100° readings when it’s all said and done.

We’ll hover around the triple digit mark for the next several days, but at least some slightly cooler air is coming our way soon!

Stay tuned! Because at least for now, that’s about all the weather there is to track in our neck of the woods.
