Flood Watches canceled for southern counties as rainfall trends downward
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – As the picture regarding Tropical Storm Alberto’s path gets clearer, it is looking more likely that impacts for the Brazos Valley will be LESS overall than initially anticipated.
A farther southward track is largely the culprit for a lesser rainfall forecast for the next few days.
While we DO expect a scattered to even widespread round of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday especially, it looks less likely that this will affect all of the day, and we are now looking at highest rain chances in the mid/late afternoon with peak heating of the day.
A farther southward track and less available moisture likely means less rain for the area through the end of the week
Rain and storms will still be capable of dropping a quick 2″ or more thanks to the ample moisture, but storms should be moving quickly in and out of areas enough where flooding should not be a widespread issue.
As a result of new model data, the Flood Watch that was in effect for Washington, Waller, and Austin counties has been CANCELED.
