Flag placement event held at the Aggie Field of Honor

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Ahead of Memorial Day, Wreaths Across America continued to honor veterans Sunday with its flag placement event at the Aggie Field of Honor.

Flag placements started on Friday at Oakwood Cemetery and continued on Saturday at Bryan City and College Station Cemeteries.

Linda Drehs has done it for the past nine years and placed one on her husband’s grave.

”It’s just a way to honor him and his service and others too,” said Drehs.

Others volunteered their time including several from the Young Men’s Service League.

”It’s good because it helps build character for everybody and it just helps make you a better person, feel good about yourself, and feel good about others too,” said Cade Corcoran, a volunteer with YMSL.

Wreaths Across America says there were about 30 people on Sunday placing more than 250 flags.
