Falls County fugitive arrested after Galveston police were led to believe he had drowned
REAGAN, Texas (KWTX) – A fugitive, who Galveston search and rescue crews searched for as a possible drowning victim, was arrested at his home in Reagan Saturday morning.
Joseph Grams had two felony arrest warrants, according to the Falls County Sheriff’s Office.
Falls County Sheriff Joe Lopez said a Galveston detective contacted the Falls County Sheriff’s Office earlier this week about Joseph Grams, a Reagan resident. The detective said crews were looking for him as a possible drowning victim.
On Friday, Galveston PD told Lopez that Grams had not drowned but was believed to be back at his home in Reagan.
Lopez said he formed a task force with McLennan County Sheriff’s Department and Robertson County law enforcement agencies to arrest Grams from his home Saturday morning.
Lopez said, after a four-hour standoff, they arrested Grams without any issues or injuries.
Falls County Sheriff’s Office said the incident is still under investigation in regard to the false information that Grams had reportedly drowned in Galveston.
This is a developing story.
