Fake gun scare at city park in Bryan leads to juvenile’s arrest
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Bryan Police Department says a juvenile was arrested on multiple charges Tuesday night following an incident involving a fake gun at the Travis Fields at Travis Bryan Midtown Park.
Police say they were notified of an armed person acting suspiciously near the fields around 8:00 p.m.
Multiple officers quickly responded to the area and took a juvenile into custody.
Police say the juvenile had a fake gun but before their arrival, “the actions of the juvenile placed citizens in fear of imminent danger or harm.”
The juvenile was arrested for Deadly Conduct, Evading Arrest, and Minor in Possession of Tobacco.
Police are praising the concerned citizens who alerted them to the incident.
“This shows the importance of being aware of your surroundings and citizens calling 911 when they observe something suspicious or out of the norm,” said Officer Seth Waller.
