ESPN’s College GameDay coming to Aggieland for first game of season
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – ESPN’s College GameDay series is coming back to College Station for Texas A&M’s first game of the football season. It will also be Week 1 of College GameDay.
The announcement confirmed Texas A&M will play Notre Dame in a night game on Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Kyle Field. The game will air in primetime on ABC.
College GameDay will air from 8-11 a.m. CT on ESPN and broadcast live from Aggie Park. Students and fans have the opportunity for an up-close view of the show by standing in the pit next to the stage. ESPN says audience selection is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The game will also be Mike Elko’s debut as Texas A&M’s head coach. He previously served as Texas A&M’s defensive coordinator and safeties coach from 2018-2021. Texas A&M hired Elko from Notre Dame, where he served as defensive coordinator in 2017.

Entering its 36th season, College GameDay travels to a different college campus each week of football season through the College Football Playoff National Championship in January.
