Emergency crews respond to reports partial structure collapse at Oak Grove Power Plant

FRANKLIN, Texas (KBTX) – The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office says emergency crews are responding to reports of a partial structure collapse Monday afternoon at the Oak Grove Power Plant near Franklin.

According to radio traffic from the scene, there is a silo that has reportedly collapsed and “significant damage around the property.”

An unknown number of injuries are being reported but their conditions are unclear.

A spokesman for the Bryan Fire Department also confirmed that they are sending emergency resources to the scene.

The Oak Grove Power Plant near Franklin made news last year following a deadly boiler explosion at the facility in May.

In February last year, four workers at the plant were sent to hospitals following the release of a chemical.

The parent company of the plant is Luminant.
