DPS investigating fatal crash in Walker County

WALKER COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – One person is dead and another was sent to the hospital in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash on Saturday, January 13.

DPS said the crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on FM 1374 and Texas Grand Road. The preliminary investigation shows a 2016 Kia Optima was driving at a high rate of speed and rear-ended a 2014 Honda CRV.

The driver of the CRV, Sandra Kay Bear, 62, from Huntsville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Kia, Adria Nicole Taylor, 21, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

DPS said the crash is still under investigation.
