CrowdStrike outage affects state, Brazos Valley services

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The widespread CrowdStrike outage on Friday has disrupted a number of Brazos Valley businesses and services.

A source from the College Station Fire Department (CSFD) told KBTX College Station dispatch is down due to the outage, but 9-1-1 is still operating.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Drivers License Offices are down statewide, as reported by Texas DPS. If you had an appointment, the office should have notified you.

As previously reported, Texas A&M University elected to cancel classes for Friday in response to the outage.

While airlines around the world have grounded hundreds of thousands of flights, it would appear Easterwood Airport in College Station still has incoming and outgoing flights.

Officials from CrowdStrike say they are working to remedy the outage of the cybersecurity tool but have not released a timeline of when that will be.
