College Station police looking for man linked to violent home invasion

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The College Station Police Department is actively searching for a man they call “armed and dangerous.”

Clayton James Rowley is wanted for his role in a violent home invasion that occurred in early January. Police did not say specifically where the incident occurred.

Rowley is wanted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon by a Felon in connection with the investigation.

On Tuesday afternoon, police officers and a tactical team surrounded an apartment building near Northgate in the 400 block of First Street to serve a search warrant at a residence but Rowley was not inside.

“Due to the act being a violent, felony offense and the intelligence gathered as a result of the investigation, executing the warrant required the use of College Station Police Department’s SWAT Team, Hostage Negotiation Team, and Bomb Squad. Two people were detained during the execution of the search warrant and later released. There were no reported injuries and the investigation is still ongoing,” said police in a statement.
