College Station police arrest suspect in shooting that injured 4

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – One person was arrested after a shooting in a College Station parking lot injured four people early Saturday morning.

College Station police say they identified Tayshon Franklin-Jones, 21, as the shooter in a bystander video. He was taken into custody Monday afternoon at the Brazos County Courthouse.

Franklin-Jones is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct.

The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. in the parking lot near Knight Club at the corner of Southwest Parkway and Texas Avenue. Police say there was a very large crowd in the parking lot when the shooting occurred, and 20 minutes prior to the gunfire, College Station police officers were already on the property responding to other calls including a criminal trespass call at Knight Club and a civil disturbance in the parking lot.

Police have not confirmed if they are looking for other suspects.

Franklin-Jones was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2022 when police looked at video evidence that connected him to another shooting.
