College Station church to offer abuse awareness training
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Safe Churches is a movement dedicated to providing a safe place for the vulnerable.
Victory Church in College Station is hosting its second Safe Churches training event. The church held its inaugural conference in August 2023.
Safe Churches provides education for pastors, church administrators and leaders regarding recognition, response and after care for victims of abuse in the faith community. The conference is open to all denominations.
Topics include recognizing and reporting, prevention and response, counseling, technology, family education, supervising minors in a church environment, and crisis management.
There will be experts in law enforcement, legal, insurance, counseling and more.
The Safe Churches conference is Saturday, Feb. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Victory Church, located at 13107 State Highway 30 in College Station.
The cost to attend is $75 in advance and $100 at the door. Online registration closes on February 23.
